School Profile

Forest Hills is a comprehensive elementary school of 400 students, located in Lake Oswego, Oregon.  The Lake Oswego School District and Forest Hills are known for the success of its academic program by all measures.  With grades from kindergarten through sixth, Forest Hills is organized as two year blended classrooms.  First and second, third and fourth, and fifth and sixth graders are grouped together with the goal of keeping students with the same teacher for two years.  The educational program is based on a program of continuous progress, designed to let students move ahead and be academically challenged regardless of their grade level.

Forest Hills has several specialists who support our academic program.  They include a coordinator for students identified as talented and gifted as well as a special services department designed to help students with special needs.  Music and physical education are taught by specialists and the school has a part time councilor.  Forest Hills also has a reading and math specialist.

The school has a very active parent organization (PTO) and annually raises substantial funds for curriculum enrichment.  The Lake Oswego Public Schools has a Foundation that annually raises funds for the hiring of additional staff.
